Popuation

  • India is the second most populated country on this planet and is on it's way to being number one within the next 20-25 years. In 1965 there were less than 500 million of us. By 2004, the population of India has more than doubled. By the year 2030, at the current birth rate, India would have 1700 million people, surpassing China to become the most populous nation on earth.

Problems

  • The effect of this incredible increase has been a falling standard of living in general, shortages, untold misery and conflict.
  • It is foolish to expect that we can provide a decent standard of living to so many in such a short time.
  • Overpopulation causes the lack of employment in India and hence labour is dirt cheap in India.
  • The gap between the rich and the poor in India is shocking. An average person who may be works in a call center gets paid somewhere between 10,000 to 20,000 rupees per month whereas a labourer might get as less as 500-1000 Rupees per month.
The  shortage of basic necessities among the poorer section of the society is pretty common. They don't get food, shelter or water easily.
  • Diseases are very common amongst them.
  • India does not have unemployment benefits like money and stuff. If you are unemployed, good luck to you.
  • We do have free clinics and free schools.
  • India loses about 8,000 square miles of arable land each year.
  • Fresh water reserves are used up faster than what nature can replace.
  • With the disappearance of forests, rainfall patterns change leading to droughts and floods.

Needs to be Done

  • The only way the population can be controlled is by applying a strict law like China to have 1 baby or get punished.
  • if you introduce a pension people won't need to have surplus children to support themselves
